Binghamton University has both its good and badQuite BrightPolitical Science
Binghamton University has both its good and bad points. However, you will find this at every college. I must admit that I receive a good education at a cheap price, for an out of state student. Even though the majority of the students are from New York, I do not feel intimidated by them in any way. The social life on campus is pretty good. However, you will not have fun here if you do not get involved with something, whether it be a sport, club, greek life, etc. Overall, I am enjoying myself at Binghamton University and am looking forward to the rest of my time spent here.

This school is not terrible if you findQuite BrightGeography and Geosciences
This school is not terrible if you find your niche and remain open minded. It is imperative that you get involved in whatever it is you are interested in otherwise you will never feel a connection to this school or its people. Most people come to this school because they are from New York and want a good education with an affordable price tag. There is no shame in this. Most people are smart here and very dynamic but for one reason or another they are very apathetic. It's probably Binghamton that makes them this way. If you come here be DIFFERENT!! "Dare to Care" as one motivational speaker told me in high school. If you find yourself with a case of the Binghamton blues at some point, study abroad or participate in the National Student Exchange. (NSE is an opportunity to study at other US colleges for up to an academic year.) Binghamton University is not a bad place to be from as there is a lot of recruiting that goes on here from NYC firms. If you come here and you make the experience and the university your own, you will be very satisfied and after four years you will have received a first rate education.

Horrible school, nothing to do here but drink. Not so brightEnglish
Horrible school, nothing to do here but drink. The surrounding area is like a cold version of the South with a much less interesting culture. The townie's accent sounds like a redneck version of a Chicago accent and is enough to make you sick. The campus is ugly and depressing, the food is bad and there isn't even any real food even in town - it's all chains, so don't expect authentic New York restaurants upstate. if you are not from "The Island" people here make you feel like you are a nobody. The only good things about Binghamton is that its cheap and you get 4 credits per class. Bottom line is: Go to NYU.
