Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I had a great deal of expectations forQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I had a great deal of expectations for Liberty. I am currently serving in the military, and needed a school that offered a good distance learning program. Liberty spiked my interest due to it's positive reputation and the school's values seem to align with my own. They offer 8 week courses and all the work is done via a CPU. Good stuff, sounded nice.

However, that is where the good part ends. After a few classes it became apparent that the school is lacking in quite a few ways. Communication is terrible... between the profs, academic advisors, etc... I am stationed overseas and the time differece creates a few problems ( so I understand why phone contact is a constant issue) but emails can not be ignored (you would think). I have had 2 classes where I have never heard back from the prof. Terrible. With 8 classes, there are many times when a prompt resonse is needed. The lack of importance placed on communication with us distance learning students has been my biggest complaint.Other ramblings include what others have said in previous posts... poor quality classes, biased Christian opinions, etc...

Where to begin...
This is not the University for you if you want the REAL college experience, Christian or not I'd say. I'm a Christian and expected to come to this school and enjoy my stay. I was wrong. I'm just going to rant off things in random order. To begin, the first priority of this school is to put more people in it, no matter who it may be. Hence bringing in tons of people from other countries I guess for "multi culture" appearance and giving them huge scholarships that come out of paying students pockets. Bringing in more people just makes it worse on the students already here, the food is so far beyond unworthy of eating its ridiculous, they wont increase the dining hall probably because funding goes to other stuff. Many many many have suffered from food borne illnesses this way. The rules are next, they are pretty bad, and ridiculous. Most here are adults and expect to be treated so, explore the rules, they are way worse than appearing. To be an RA you apparently have to be a jerk, they follow you around looking for every opportunity to give you reps which in turn steal your money by charging it to your tuition. Curfew sucks. As far as fun atmosphere, nothing period. Everyone that wants to have a life leaves on the weekend to avoid this boring school and town and avoid being shoveled reps. Even if you were to watch any rated R movie. On the weekend everyone does homework, sleeps, eats or plays Madden, it sucks. Lynchburg offers nothing to do, during the day or at night, which is around 8 when everything starts shutting down. You have curfew anyway. On Wednesday nights forget doing anything, church shuts down anything you could possibly think of doing. More than anything the school would just like money to bring in more students. Your 20,000 dollars a year goes right down the toilet, you'll see none of it. Please do yourself a favor and don't come here. I'm transferring soon, everyone makes mistakes.

P.S. One of the worst things, you are rewarded for narcing or snitching on your friends, if you don't you suffer the worst consequences, the Deans just want you to say what they want you to. Seen many of my friends go down because of this, its sad.

Question
I went to LU with really high expectations,Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I went to LU with really high expectations, as I am a Christian and was looking forward to a Christian-themed education. What I got was a huge slap in the face. My biggest complaint is the rigidness of the theology...you're required to go to 10pm hall meetings once a week and if you don't go to every single one of the spiritual events you're horsewhipped. I didn't go to an all-night "night of prayer" with my dorm wing at 3am, and my R.A. painted a big red target on my chest, and from that point on I got reps for a gummi bear on the floor or because my sheets weren't folded nicely underneath my comforter on my bed. They claim to be evangelical, but in reality their isolation from the world and their "im better than you because I'm baptist" mentality turns many people off to the faith and the university.
