Ok, i just want to start out sayingBrightArt & Design Department
Ok, i just want to start out saying that i used to be one of those pcc lovers in high school who was constantly prmoting the college "PCC is not that bad - you get used to the rules. Come to PCC - it's in Florida!" Well, ignorance is bliss. I just finished my first semester at PCC and, let me tell ya, it SUCKED! First off, we were devastated by the hurricane that was "not going to hit us"(the words of Dr. Mullenix) The school totally lied about the hurricane, lied about the damage, lied about the circumstances. The rules are more than dumb - they're damaging. I have had comtinual nightmares about meeting off campus is "mixed groups." Oh yeah, the entire Communicative Arts builing is considered "unchaperoned" meaning if you even strike up a "how's it goin" conversation, you could be socialed for two weeks. And for those people out there who blissfully do not know what that means, it means you cannot talk to the opposite sex for two weeks. The art program is pretty good, but i would say there is a lack of creativity. So, it you wanna go through 4 years of torture at a very cheap price and get an education along with it, go to PCC

Do not go hereQuite BrightCriminal
Do not go here unless you can handle someone watching everything you do 24/7! Wherever you turn someone is trying to get you in trouble for the stupidest things, whether you accidentally brush up against a girl(absolutely no contact) or whether you listen to "evil" music.

Question
My experience at PCC taught me a greatBrightArt & Design Department
My experience at PCC taught me a great deal. Unfortunately, it was not academic, but rather was the honed skills of hypocrisy, mindless following, and numbed religious blindness. My grades at PCC were stellar - and that with surprisingly little study, work or thought. I am not bitter, rebellious or liberal, as some posters would lead one to believe that all those opposed to PCC must be. My career has been very successful and the monetary reward has been great, but be aware that I am not at all involved with any job remotely associated with my studies at PCC. As a matter of fact, I was laughed out of town by professionals in that field when they saw the portfolio that PCC demands from art students (total lack of creativity).

The rules DO NOT build character! I laugh to myself every time I read that type of ridiculous rhetoric! I ask, does any CULT build character?

The college does have its positive points: it is pretty, it is pretty, and ... oh yes, it is pretty and near the beach. Bottom line, though I didn't have any particularly traumatic experiences there, I don't recommend it to anyone who is ready to foray into adulthood. If you are one who is most comfortable attached to a mother's apron-strings, and having your opinions, thoughts and ideas dictated to you, you will fit right in and should, by all means attend!
