The University of Wisconsin at Madison is one of the best "hidden treasure" universities in America. I was given a full academic scholarship and I turned down schools such as Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford and Dartmouth to come here. I honestly have never once regretted my decision because I believe a Wisconsin education is just as good as an Ivy League education at a lower price. No opportunity has been cut off by attending the university. It was the ultimate college experience because of the tremendously accepting environment of Madison. No one is excluded for being nerds, jocks, etc. Considering how liberal Madison is, one would be surprised to find that there are hardly any gay students though. The social scene was nice, the campus was amazing and the econ department motivated me and I am happy to have landed a job at Goldman Sachs recently. The most competitive employers know of Wisconsin's cachet. Choose Wisconsin because you can't go wrong with it.
