I had doubts about coming to Duke, but now I couldn't be happier with my choice. People are friendly—everywhere you go people giving you a smile or asking how you are. A lot of people are involved in Greek life, but it is by no means a necessary part of having fun. (Most) professors are extremely willing to help you. I've had professors who came in on the weekend to hold review sessions before tests and professors who have invited the whole class out to lunch. Undergraduates are not ignored and shoved to the academic sidelines. In fact, they are encouraged to do research with professors and get involved in other aspects of the university. Durham isn't exactly New York or Boston, but I've found that there are so many things to do on campus that it doesn't really matter. Overall, Duke is a forward looking university that can provide you with the opportunity to do just about anything.
