Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
MTSU is a very large school with many students. Prepare to be lost for the first couple semesters if you do not live on campus. There is a high number of commuter students from Nashville (like myself) so parking is extremely limited during the spring and fall semesters (especially Fall). You might think that this a trivial thing to include but if you decide to go to MTSU you find out how parking is a very untrivial daily event. I had a couple of professors that did not speak English well. One in the math department and another in finance. I hated my experience with the English department. I found the faculty in the English department to be rude, unhelpful, self-concerned and not at fair in their grading. The resources can be really nice on campus. You have access to a 24/7 computer lab with software for every major from word processing to CAD. The rec center is also very nice. It has an indoor pool, excellent weight room and equipment, basketball, indoor rock climbing wall, tennis, track, etc. You can also rent (for free) all kinds of equipment for off campus sports such as kyacking, outdoor rock climbing, and camping. Career placement leaves something to be desired. It basically consists of one person at the desk to direct you to the appropriate forms and the binders of fairly out-dated wanted ads the university recieves. As for the rest, you'll have to experience it on your own. If you're looking for an affordable and decent state school then I highly recommend MTSU.
