SCAD is a wonderful school! I went to RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) for two years and I hated it! RISD is way more conservative than SCAD. My best friend went to Ringling in Sarasota and transferred to SCAD and she said that SCAD is 200x as better that Ringling. My major (Arch) is so mind-blowing! The professor are great! Every year there is a new building added on to the campus, a new student activity, and so many festivals. Okay Savannah is not the most crime infested city in the world, use common sense! Don't walk don't dark alleys at night, etc. Savannah is truly an underground city. Everything to do that is interesting for young people happen at night and you have to look around for them.

I think most art schools are jealous of SCAD because it is the only art school in the nation that uses a quarter system (to pack in more intensive courses), doesn’t have NASAD accreditation (because you have to be on a semester system to get it), only has classes four days a week (because professors give you so much work to do!), has great facilities (compared to RISD, where most building are on the break of collapse), and is overall a great school.

Now, SCAD is way different than it was two or three years ago: new professors (highly qualified, most have staggering resumes) are all over the place, bigger better facilities, and the administration is making a conscientious effort to improve SCAD in all areas to ensure quality education.

So to all those jack asses you missed out on one of the best art schools in the nation, screw you SCAD is amazing! But everyone is entitled to their own options.

responseYou obviously are a little rich kid. if you think an 'underground environ' whooh. get to to a city.. i mean a city not a village. I went there for arch and basically taught my professors. its a place where people go to teach for a vacation life, not cutting edge design. yes, there is a fucking racial racial problem. i from the inner city of a big metro and this place has racial issues way worse per capita. wow, a … wake up.
