As both a straight out of high school into MTSU student who didn't complete my degree and after being out of college for 10+yrs then going back and making straight A's, there is a world of difference. It's a decent school with plenty of things to do if you put the effort into seeking those things out. If you are introverted like myself, you will feel left out and unsure where to go to find those interactions "college experience" you may seek. As an adult student, those "college experiences" don't appeal to me anymore, so my focus is on making A's in all my classes. Interaction among me and other students seems easier now because I'm not afraid to start the conversation. So, smile, be friendly, and don't be afraid to speak up.
