The professors just lecture, they talk talk talk without much explanation. (I am speaking of the sciences) You must be a self-learner and self-teacher. The TA's are not helpful if they are not able to speak english well or understand the student's questions. I expect professors to TEACH me in a way that I will be able to understand what they are speaking about. Thus far, the professors just talk and skip over important steps necessary for understanding the material. Tests are made in weird fashions. I went to a really high rated community college prior to UIC and the professors there actually cared about the student's understanding of the material. And for 25 thousand dollars a year in tuition/housing, I expect a beautifully maintained campus and it is not at all. Smells like garbage a lot, muddy patches in grass, ugly buildings, uneven sidewalks that puddle up really bad in the rain. It's just bad.
