It's surprising that most comments here are fair. UR is not a college you're crazy about but it's decent. In terms of academics, coursework is difficult and you will get a rigorous education here. Most professors are super nice, except the Economics department. Most importantly, people here come from all kinds of backgrounds. You can definitely find friends here not matter what kind of person you are. Okay, negative side. In general, students here are really smart and wealthy, which means it's really competitive (difficult to get good rankings) and some underprivileged students might have a hard time fitting in. For example, in one class of mine, everyone except me has MacBook. In another class, half of the students have been to Europe before. Such things are very uncommon in a public state university (many of students in my US high school even never went out of the state). Also, social life is terrible. Students tend to be nerdy here and the libraries are full all the time. Despite the quality of education, it's difficult to get a job directly after graduation. UR tends to train those who want to get into PhDs rather than Finance/Consulting/etc. Parking and food are terrible by the way.
