When it comes to the education I got, I'm content. I graduated from the Newhouse School and people are always telling me what a great school that is. However, I had a really really really hard time finding friends at Syracuse. I'm from the midwest and found the attitude of students very disheartening. Rude, snobby and spoiled. Many girls walking around with Daddy's credit card and buying $200 jeans and designer bags every week. Not my style. I finally found a great group of people my LAST semester of my LAST year (go figure). I had spent 3.5 years trying to get along with people that weren't my type. So my advice would be to find people who really represent you and your values. Don't try to be fake friends just to have some.

The campus is beautiful and that was one of my favorite parts. However, it's sad how unattached the university is with the surrounding area. most of syracuse could really use help and benefit from university programs working with local businesses and volunteering. I did some volunteer work my sophomore year and would suggest it to any studet. makes you feel great and you really get to know the community. I really notice that now, since i am in a graduate advertising school that is in the middle of a city and very invo9vled with the community.

Upstate New York is beautiful. Don't forget to explore the Finger Lakes Region and stuff. I didn't get around to that until my last semester as well. Syracuse also has a great study abroad program. I studied in Australia and had the time of my life.

However, once again, the student body leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not into athletics, so i never went to a single sporting event. Pretty rare for Syracuse students.

Anyway, Newhouse is a great school. But I would not have attended Syracuse had I not been accepted into Newhouse's advertising program. It was a trade off. Great school and great campus in exchange for spoiled, rude, rich kids. And a LOT of racial segregation which sucked to see. It would have been nice to have seen more students of different racese hanging out and stuff.

Happy Education.
