I loved my experience at USC.Biology
I loved my experience at USC. I felt the school combined an excellent educational environment along with many campus and community activities. I especially love the fact that USC is a high-ranking university in education and sports. I am currently in Medical school and know that my education at USC and the school's reputation helped me with my admission.

I only wish I knew about the school's Bach/MD program sooner. I recommend HS students who want to become doctors or pharmacists to look into the Bach/MD and Bach/PharmD programs, which guarantee you a spot after undergrad.

Question
I was hoping to go to a goodSuper BrilliantBiology
I was hoping to go to a good college, but I was wrong. USC may have a big reputation, but the academic environment isn't as strong as the Ivies and even the U of California campuses. Students at SC can be arrogant and snoby because a lot of them come from high-income families. They are self-absorbed in the greek system, binge drink and exclude you from conversation if you're not a part of a fraternity. Many of these frats and soririties are dominated by white students, which promotes the racist atmosphere USC use to have. I confirm this because my uncle was denied acceptance into a frat at USC in the 1950s. I am also disappointed because there are plenty of foreigners who can't proper English in the engineering school. I think USC was a waste of money (lots of money!). The majority of the students are very trashy. It's hard to find a true friend at this school. Only a few students I know take their education seriously. In fact one of my friends transferred to Berkeley because she was sick and tired of the materialistic atmosphere at SC. I wish I followed her.

Question
USC is a great university.Quite BrightBiology
USC is a great university. Those who have complained about it in other reviews are probably not taking advantage of what it really has to offer. I transferred from a Cal State and have been blown away by the differences. USC is extremely challenging academically and provides the student with a strong background in GEs. I'm used to cruising thru my GEs and find the ones at SC to be some of the toughest. You can't slip anything past the professors and if you care at all about your education, you appreciate that. The students are very competitive, which pushes you to do well and find new an innovative ways to learn and grow. I was a near 4.0 GPA at a Cal State. I worked hard for my grades. But, now I understand how grades shouldn't come that easy. I'm working my butt off at USC and its really difficult to get any positive praise. Though discouraging, it is helping me to grow leaps and bounds. I used to have the perfect study formulas to acheive my "A", but now, I'm taking the bitter pill of rejection. No skating here. You have to earn it in more ways than one. I hate it at times, but I know I'll be much more equipped for the future. Whenever I've met USC students in the past, I recognized a quiet confidence about them. Now I understand how it was gained.
