UNCC was my first choice as an enteringSuper BrilliantUndecided
UNCC was my first choice as an entering freshman. I had taken several classes here my senior year and have been extremely pleased with the level of difficulty and challange they provide. They campus is beautiful with many trails for jogging or walking. Artwork surrounds the walkways and the building structure (aside from the highrises, haha) are detailed and visually pleasing. The highrise dorms provide the perfect college experience and create a great way of interating with your fellow students (and classmates in Moore's case). All dorms are safely protected by a card that only residents have. All dorm rooms have locks and bolts should extra caution be desired. The teachers provide the challange and help that all the students desire. Most students who do not enjoy the learning atmosphere are students who either did not make an effort to recieve additional assistance, or students who did not sign up for courses that would meet their academic skill. Nothing about this school is in short supply. The abundance of donations have provided the school with a means to expand their facilities. UNCC rocks the house and I can't WAIT for the fall!!!

I entered "Computer Science", because it's the closestQuite BrightComputer Science
I entered "Computer Science", because it's the closest to what I do - UNCC has a unique College of Information Technology, I think one of the few in the nation. Within this college are programs in Computer Science & Software and Information Systems. The Department of Software and Information Systems has been designated by NSA as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. They have Cyber-Defense Scholarship opportunities (partnership with the federal gov't), and have incredible faculty in this area. All in all, if you are seriously interested in IT - Charlotte is the best place in NC for sure. You have to stick it out through basic undergrad courses that can be discouraging, but hold onto your hat when you get to junior year and dig into your major!

This school has a lot going for it.Business - Management and Administration
This school has a lot going for it. I'm in the Business school, and the advisors are very, very accessible and helpful (don't know about the advisors in other programs). Like any university, you learn to choose your profs wisely ( helps!) There are some crummy ones, like any university, but mostly good ones that really know their stuff. This isn't one of those schools that you can slack and get good grades. The dorms are among the best I've seen in the state (with the exception of the high-rises). Not a party school, though, so if that's what you're looking for... look elsewhere. But, I've met some great friends and our dorm is a friendly community. They've got really good opportunities with Charlotte businesses for internships - The best small-town colleges seem to do for interships is place an IT major at the local hardware store for a semester (happened to a friend of mine in another school that shall remain nameless...). If you're looking for a "yeeeeeeeee-hawwwww" good time school, you could probably make a better choice. But, if you want a good education at a fine school, consider Charlotte.
