RPI has a great reputation in industry, andComputer Engineering
RPI has a great reputation in industry, and its earned. sure, you have to work hard here to graduate, but its worth it; after graduation you'll be worth a lot more than an engineer from any random college. its true that Troy isn't a great city, but downtown albany is only about 15 miles away and there are plenty of cultural things to do, along with a great nightlife. there are many other colleges in the area: russell sage, union, suny albany, and more. the professors, while highly knowledgeable, sometimes aren't the most approachable people in the world, but its a great asset to have one on your good side; they often have strong connections within the industry to help you find a job. there are over 100 clubs and organizations here and all are student-run. the campus is pretty but needs a little maintenance, which is currently underway. it will be looking great in another year or two.at the end of the day, college is what you make of it. if you work hard (more or less) and make some good friends, it can be the greatest experience of your life.

RPI may look good, but looks can beQuite BrightAerospace Engineering
RPI may look good, but looks can be deceiving. I really only know one or two people who actually like it here. The people here don't socialize. There are no girls. What girls there are, are infected with RIBS (ratio induced bitch syndrome). This truly does exist. Kids for cliques that are very isolated. Everyone splits up and goes to party at a certain fraternity/sorority and for the most part don't recognize others at the school. I am pledging Theta Xi Fraternity, and honestly its the only thing thats keeping me here right now. If you don't go greek at RPI, you are a loser basically. I'm not saying its a bad thing, because its a lot of fun. It's hard work and makes you think you can do anything, but RPI in general is depressing. I've never really been depressed in my life until now. I'm an Aeronautical Eng. major and right now I just want to quit and Join the Air Force to be a fighter pilot, damn their vision requirements. Oh well, I'll give it another shot next semester...
