Wagner is exactly what you make of it, people either love it or hate it, there really aren't a lot of neutral opinions about the school. If you choose to go out to the bars and meet people you'll have a great time. If you stay in every night and don't get involved in anything you'll most likely be one of the people that does nothing but complain. Even if you're not into the college bar scene you're about 25 minutes from Manhattan, if you're bored it's your own fault. All in all, I've enjoyed by time at Wagner...the schoolwork is ridiculously easy and everyone enjoys partying.

I believe that wagner has great potential to become an excellent school. One main problem is that they draw students who are mostly from the surrounding area. Because of the price of the education, some of them tend to be stuck up. The academic departments try to be challenging, but many students do not want to work so its a weak medium. I have had a good experience with the honors program which offers challenging classes and outside activities. The school focuses a lot on their theater program, which some people enjoy. New York City is a good asset in offering opportunities.

Many people out of high school think they want the small school enviroment then come to realize how much they hate it. People choose a smaller school because they do not want to be another number in a crowd. Not suprisingly, freshman often end up dissatisfied because they do not get involved on campus, they do not form personal relationships with the faculty and administration, and they do not attend sporting and other events on campus. Gossip can run rampant at small schools and sometimes it seems everyone knows everything about everyone. More than once I have given this advice to unhappy freshman only to find them a semester later having the time of their lives. If you are going to choose Wagner, remember why you chose a small school to begin with and don't be another face in the crowd.
