Howdy!BrightArchitecture
Howdy! I am in love with this university! The people are amazing, the organizations are abundant and a blast! I'm very involved in my sorority and a service organization. They take up a lot of time but I've met the most amazing people. Many people say that our university is conservative and mostly white, I think the number is around 85% caucasian. This is true, I'll be honest. But there is a reason. If you didn't know A&M used to be 100% white, 100% male college called Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College. Every man was required to be in the ROTC program called the Corps of Cadets so needless to say they still remain a huge part of our university and make it a pleasure to go here. There's nothing better than seeing a cute Corps boy in uniform smile and say "Howdy" to you as you walk past him. So that's really why the school is mostly caucasian and yes there are many rednecks. That's mainly because we have an awesome Agriculture program and everyone loves Texas! If you don't know who Pat Green is you will after a month of going to college here! I've never felt so welcome in a place or met such nice people. All the boys open doors and on the buses we ride around campus, the guys always stand so the ladies can take a seat. It's just what Texas is all about. And I just wanted to get this out, College Station is a small town but it has everything a big town has but without the traffic. The night life is awesome too. There are tons of awesome bars, dance halls, and night spots. You can always find something to do.Our academic programs here are also outstanding. I'm in the architecture program and it is incredibly challenging. I feel like I'm always working, but it's an amazing experience and I've already learned more than I did all my years in high school.

Question
The reputation of the University has provided meAerospace Engineering
The reputation of the University has provided me respect and acceptance -- something I saw others have to earn. It was eye-opening to understand the power that goes with a solid, respectable reputation. My career has grown due to the care and concern of other Aggies. If I had known better, I would have tried harder and looked for more interesting jobs, rather than looking for "the expected" employers. I recommend you really try to avoid "experiencing life" -- don't make a mistake that will haunt you for the rest of yours. Find a spouse -- they are harder to come by in the outside world. Make friends -- they will become lifelong allies in good and bad times.
