For the record, I would just like toBright
For the record, I would just like to say that if you want to go to UW, you'd better make sure you're thick-skinned. This school kicks you around like you're a piece of trash (unless your parents are alumni) and does everything in its power to make sure you leave knowing absolutely nothing more than you came in, except that all the UW prof's are self-absorbed, condescending, and completely out of touch. Oh, and by the way, the students aren't much better.

Question
I'd like to bring in a little doseBright
I'd like to bring in a little dose of reality here for all of you students who just read those positive comments about UW.

I was a student here at UW and was extremely disappointed in the way that I was treated. I'm not going to go into detail about what happened to me, but I would just like to make it clear that Madison is by far not a perfect school, even though they'd like to think so.

Madison is extremely obsessed with rankings. They seem to think that because US World and News thinks they're a good school, they really are (this is obviously not true). A good school does not propogate itself solely on rankings. Rankings does not make a university good, especially since many of the ranking systems are flawed.

The fact of the matter is, the only people who think Madison is special are the people who go here. Please don't be fooled by all of the positive things you have heard about this university. Good things happen to a select few---not everyone. You can get just as good of an education (if not better) at any other university.

If you truly are a good student, you will succeed---no matter where you go. There are plenty of good schools elsewhere. Please do not be sucked in by UW's "public Ivy" mentality. To be frank, if you are thinking about Madison, please think again.

Question
If a kid withNot so bright
If a kid with flip-flops and a rip curl sweatshirt can fit in at the University of Wisconsin surely anyone can. A truely remarkable University, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else... well maybe the beach. I have the rest of my life to live in Cali, for now U of W is awesome.
