Positive Negative Neutral Advice
PCC is not accredited, not even by anyQuite BrightComputer Science
PCC is not accredited, not even by any Christian accreditation that is recognized. Go ahead and check with any graduate school program now before going to PCC. If you want to followup your undergraduate immediately with a graduate degree such as an MBA, you'll find that the majority, if not all, of the top colleges now require accreditation. Those colleges just do not have the time or resources to validate non-accredited institutions, and I can't say that I blame them. Even years later with much working experience, backing from a large corporation, I still had MUCH difficulty getting into a grad school. I have a four year degree from PPC in computer science, and in Accounting. Had to go to another school 10 years later and retake undergraduate courses to be accepted into Grad school. I now have an undergrad & grad from Rutgers. Head of PCC wrote letters on my behalf to no avail. I admit the folks at PCC were very nice to me and tried very much to help. But the person at Rutgers admissions made the comment that they had never heard of the school, much less Vice President so-n-so. So much to my disappointment, PCC is viewed the same as the non accredited “Sally Struthers Truck Driving School”. Business majors think about that when you place PCC on your resume.

Also don't be led into the trap of saying you'll only go to PCC for one year and transfer. You'll find you have probably wasted a year of credits.

As far as rules... Rules are rules. There are many, go elsewhere if you don't like rules. Don't go because your mommy is making you attend. I graduated 14 years ago and still to this day when I get together with alumni, the big topic always ends up with how PCC robbed them of the maturation process all young people need to facilitate function in a real world.

Here is something we discussed recently from a business major perspective: Name someone from PCC that is recognized in the world for something? Discovering something? Starting a revival movement? Starting a company that now is the largest and most successful? Recognized artist? Or even any large companies with PCC on the top of their list for graduates?

You would think if the PCC education is that great that you would have heard of someone from there by now, right? Even if I can’t think of any business folks, I can at least name a few spiritual leaders from places like Bob Jones and Liberty.

I guess my point is that PCC should not be attractive to you just because of the cheap price, location, or ‘thank God I don’t have to worry about parties next door.’ Hate to tell you, but that is real life. If the Lord sent you there, then go. Just make sure it is not pressure from the parents and their will for your life. You are not going to hell if you consider a non Christian college. It may be your biggest mission field.

Question
Some majors at PCC have well-trained and experiencedAverageCommunications
Some majors at PCC have well-trained and experienced instructors and facilities for students to get practical, useful training -- such as Nursing, Elementary Education, Engineering, and Computer Science. But many majors have instructors who became teachers immediately after graduation and have no experience working in the real world (and they have deans over entire academic departments who have never worked outside the college either).

Everything has the influence and slant of the college administration's own closed-minded beliefs and personal standards. And the rules and standards will be the largest issue that students deal with every day -- but the college won't let you know what the rules and policies and standards are before you attend. The atmosphere is stifling -- it feels like an extension of your childhood. You are paying to get an education, and yet the college doesn't provide true freedom for students to grow and to learn because they don't treat their students like adults.

PCC is also not accredited. This has the potential of causing problems for you if you wish to pursue post-graduate work, or if you decide that PCC is not for you and you try transfering your credits to another college. It also may affect your ability to get a job after college.

I do not recommend PCC. There are other Christian colleges (like Liberty, Tennessee Temple, Union University, and Cedarville, just to name a few) that may cost more, but you'll have a better quality eduction overall. If you're considering attending PCC, visit the campus before you register and don't be afraid to ask questions to students and faculty. If you sense any hesitation in their responses or that they either aren't being completely honest with you or they just aren't telling you the whole truth -- it should be an immediate warning flag to you that something isn't right.

Also, call the college admissions office and request a copy of the Student Handbook (the actual rules and policies students are required to follow and obey while they attend PCC), and not a copy of the college catalog either -- ask for it by name: "The PCC Student Handbook". When they tell you that's not possible, ask why. They won't send you one -- they don't want you to know in advance what the rules and regulations are because they know that if prospective students knew what they were getting themselves into, at least 7 out of 10 students would probably consider going somewhere else, and the remaining 3 will only go to PCC because tuition is cheap.

Remember that in life you get what you pay for. If you want a quality college education, perhaps you should seriously consider paying a bit more for it in order to be in an environment where you're treated like an adult. In the end, you'll be glad you did. But if you go to PCC, yes, you'll save money, but you must consider how 4 years of PCC's influence with them as the authority over you is going to affect every area of your life -- emotional, physical, mental, spiritual -- for the rest of your life.

You've read the comments here and see an overwhelming opinion that discourages other students from choosing PCC. Don't just dismiss it as disgruntled former students venting their frustrations. Notice that the majority of the complaints are legitimate concerns and that they are coherently and intelligently written. That many negative criticisms should tell you something.Invest in your future -- use your money more wisely and go to some other college.

Question
PCC is a terrible place that ruins peoplesBrightMusic Education
PCC is a terrible place that ruins peoples lives and gives them complexes. If you're not a holier-than-thou snob by the time you graduate then you're a condemned sinner in the eyes of PCC. I would never let anyone I loved go to PCC. Heck, I wouldn't let my worst enemy go to PCC. They say that the Holy Spirit is at work there, but it's baloney. The Holy Spirit is grieved at the things that go one there; the complete lack of Christian love or mercy, the condemnation of anyone who does not conform to the impossible-to-keep rules, and the close-mindedness to any new or contemporary idea. The hurts that the administration and their cronies inflict on people are real and it's a shame that they happen behind closed doors and the students feel powerless to help eachother and cannot reach out to anyone. There are no counselors at this school. NO CHRISTIAN COUNSELORS because they expect everyone to be perfect Christians without any problems. We may be Christians but we're still human and we have problems and we will make mistakes. But when the students mess up even in the smallest degree, don't expect any mercy or understanding or love from PCC. You will only get judgement and punishment.(as though they were GOD Himself)

They consider themselves indisputable. Everything they say or do is right, and if you question it, even respectfully ,you are accussed of being unspiritual and are followed and watched and probably punished or expelled.DON'T GO TO PCC! It's a little bit of hell on earth.
