Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
I would reccomend that students get really good advisors who will inform them about the types of jobs they can get using thier majors and the true prospects of getting jobs in various feilds. Also, as great and inspiring and thoughtful as college can be, it is a business. I don't think my advisors would have let me major in Communication otherwise. Employers don't need as many Comm grads as there are graduating. It is hard to get the kind of awesome job I was looking for, and my courses did not teach me anything about using computers in Comm.
One more thing about majoring in Communication: My proffesors made me pick apart my communication habits and become extremely self-conscious about how I speak. I started college talking naturally and ended with a problem in which I interrupt myself and reform one thought into ten different sentences at once. Now I try to forget all the rules. Yeah!
