Major: Electrical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Purdue is a great school for the self-motivated who want a job after school. Freshman Engineering and beyond will not hold your hand but, if you seek it, all you want is there. The knowledge and character development are invaluable. They will not hold your hand on the job and Purdue is very similar.Job advice and preparation were excellent and post-school connections are well worth the years there. Many other friends went to more expensive schools (public and private) and didn't get the career advice, mentoring, and job placement support I got at Purdue. The surrounding city is very small but extremely safe. As a female, I was often jogging around campus between 2-4am and felt very safe. As you can tell, I am very fond of my years there. It is a conservative area but as long as you are open minded (and not close minded such that everyone else needs to be "open minded" just like you) then you'll enjoy the experience Purdue has to offer.
