Obviously you never have been to Alaska. Wisconsin in Fall is just fine with lots of pleasant days right into November. Much of the country has had more snow than usual including parts of the Deep South. Many winter days are very sunny. |
Um duh it's cold. it's WI. I've lived here my whole life, and yeah, it can be miserable, but you have to look at all the fun out door winter activities. you can make the winter fun. and you get used to the cold |
I'm pretty sure this is an extreme exaggeration. Sure, it gets cold in winter, but almost everywhere, that's to be expected. And there are days that get really, really cold, but toughen up, and put more than a sweatshirt on when you go outside. Also, Wisconsin has snot plows. And salt trucks. A lot of them. There is a major part of the winter that is sunny, and the roads completely clear. A team of snow dogs would probably just get run over by the drivers that don't care if there is snow on the roads anyway. It is NOT that bad. |

The problem with UW is it's in WISCONSIN!! I had a roommate from Alaska who said he was moving back b/c the winters in Wisconsin were too cold. TOO COLD for a guy from ALASKA!! Yea, the 6 weeks of summer are decent but the rest of the year are horrible. Sell your car and by a team of sled dogs…you'll get around town a lot faster. Cold and overcast most of the year. Depressing to no end!!! But, the school itself, the students, and facilty are all nice. The only places worse are Michigan & MSU…just as cold as UW but the students and locals at UM & MSU are a**holes to boot.
