Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
I spent a ton of money getting a four year business degree at Lindenwood University, and it has done NOTHING for me at all, and I had a 3.6 GPA. Not bad, considering I was a full time student who also had a full time job. The degree has not helped me at all. As a matter of fact, I could not even use my degree to get an entry level administrative position at Lindenwood University itself! And it is not just me. I have spoken with several other alumni who experienced the exact same rejection when applying for entry level positions within Lindenwood's ranks. If I had every dollar back that I wasted on my degree, I could pay my house off right now, and THAT would have been a better investment than attending Lindenwood. My advise for students is this: If you are CURRENTLY in a position for a company where a degree could further your career within that company, and that company doesn't care where you obtain your education from, then Lindenwood will probably be great for you. But, if you are just looking to earn a degree in hopes of landing a great job that you can build a successful career from, then you might want to just save yourself the money and go to Mizzou. Or, go to a trade school and learn to be a plumber or electrician. I've found that I've made the most money over the years, performing work that others just don't want to do or are afraid of doing. THOSE are the jobs that pay well. THOSE are the jobs that can set you up financially to have a successful career. Due to wasting my time and money at Lindenwood, it looks like I will never have the opportunity for a great career that I can earn a decent retirement from. I'll just be working until I die with a worthless piece of paper from Lindenwood hanging on the wall of my den at home. Come on, what does it say about the university when THEY don't even see their own degree as acceptable to work for them?
