COMMENTS ON IONA COLLEGE - IONA College wasn't worth my investment. If I were to do it again, I would have attended a college that was more affordable, and that provided me with a better Return on My Investment. Many of the classes don't teach you how to apply what you read to the world of work, and there are not a lot of internship opportunities for all the students. Some students get internships/credit, but so many smart students are left out. Most big corporations don't have Iona College included on their college recruitment calendar. The big companies go to Manhattan College, Fordham, St. John's, and on and on, but not Iona College. The current President should be more concerned with helping Iona grads get jobs and current students get internships - they pay his salary. He should be less concerned with sports. I love sports, but we go to college to get jobs, not into Big Debt, with no returns and no suitable jobs. Ask for statistical data and reports on job placement. Where are Iona students hired? Salary ranges? How many and where are internships offered, and how many students get the jobs? You want to know the breakdown, and also how much money have recent alums donated to Iona College. I doubt, most have donated any because they are paying off their big undergraduate loans? If Iona was more concerned and cared about job placement, maybe Alums would give back. I know I won't be giving any back to Iona, not with this current administration at the top.
