Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
I was in a six semester nursing program. I started with a cohort of 75 students. I was successful and on the Dean's list until my fifth semester. One class, Nursing 3, eliminated almost 2/3 of my cohort. Over fifty kids started in September and I don't think 20 past. Take a look at the NCLEX passrates on the NYSED website. You'll see approximately 20 kids take the test each year. Yes the pass rate is high but that is because so many students are eliminated. They admit 75 and 20 get to the end. If your like me you end up with no degree after 5 semesters and about $55,000 in debt. Nursing programs don't take course work from other nursing programs so I will be starting all over again. My advice, don't go here, find another program with a better retention rate. Ask how many kids start and look to see how many take the NCLEX.
