DO NOT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ORQuite BrightCommunications
DO NOT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME AT UNC CHARLOTTE!!! I am being nothing but honest when I say that this is not the school for anybody wanting a degree and wanting to be competitive in the real world. This should be your last resort school, besides the excellent social activities (i.e. parties and binge fests) the academics suck. You couldn't get help on this campus if you were on the ground with a bullet in your back. Re-evaluate the reason why you want to go to college, I know when I came here I was excited about all the freedom and drinking, and yes it was fun for the first year, because I would party and not go to class, then I saw my grades which were average (the professors let you bullshit your way through, any excuse will work and passing everyone in the class looks better so that when they achieve tenure, because most of them are associate professors, they will still have a job) NO JOKE! But when I decided to get serious about school and my future is when I ran into problems, I stop letting them administration do whatever and charge me whatever. FINANCIAL AID HERE IS BULLSHIT!!! They will deny you any assistance as long as you let it happen, if you're stuck here speak up for yourself!!! Or you will be graduating with a lousy degree from a ill respected college with a mountain of debt (lameness shouldn't cost you anything). I have a job on campus and the faculty and other staff that I work with are on some serious bullshit (seriously) so watch your back or you might find yourself in a compromising situation or position (LOL). Also a large population of the faculty are foreign and have impossible to understand hand writing and speech, but take them for stupid because these are some of the most difficult professors. They feel they have something to prove by sticking it to you personally, (advice: don't get an African professor angry, you will never feel safe in your skin again)!!! You are extremely limited to the organizations that you will be accepted into, alot of them recruit openly but once you visit a meeting you will understand that just because you are on the email list doesn't mean they will accept you, DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE BOGUS ASS DUES!!! I pay around $200 every month for dues for two clubs and pay additional dues for greek life (I'm not disclosing which one so you can track me down!!) My greek organization does absolutely NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING but meet and gossip and hug and eat and gossip oh and PARTY!!! I am becoming enraged as I think about how wack UNCC is, it has nothing to offer compared to other state run colleges and universities. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and DO YOUR RESEARCH, JUST BECAUSE YOU GOT ACCEPTED HERE DOESN'T MEAN YOU BELONG HERE, take it from me I graduated at the top of my class and could have gone anywhere but I settled for what I thought would be a good experience in a up and coming city. NOPE!!!

Question
I am currently a freshman here.Average
I am currently a freshman here. The academics are great, the campus is very pretty. But the social life, greek life, and activities here are absolutely pathetic. The term communter school is used alot here. Every one gets done with classes on Thursday and goes home over the weekend. And the campus is no where near down town Charlotte, its a half hour outside in a crappy area with alot of crime. If you want more than good academics go somewhere else. I am going to transfer out either next semester or next year.

Question
I am a upcoming sophmore at uncc andBright
I am a upcoming sophmore at uncc and am happy with my decision. Not sure what all the negative comments are about, as long as you get involved in clubs and Are open to meeting people, you should not have a problem. The school spirit will definetly get a lot better with the football team and the newly installed lights for night games.
