Excellent University for those willing to work. Not agood place for students looking for a "party" school.

Question
I love fordham at rose hill.Quite BrightUndecided
I love fordham at rose hill. the campus is beautiful and i think this is the perfect school for me, you have the combination of a classic college campus, and new york city a metro ride away. The quality of the students here is good, there is a balance between working and partying (unlike other universities in nyc). the school is a little on the smaller side but its nice because im able to see my teachers 1 on 1 and the classes are between 15-30 ppl. Not having a good football team kinda sucks but we make up for it with basketball. if you like tailgating and drinking at 10 am dont come here, we dont do that. there are bars close to campus in the bronx ( yes the bronx) which are not as bad as they sound, the bronx may take some getting used to but if you dont do anything stupid like walking around alone in the middle of the night or flashing your credit card and money, then you will be FINE. So if you like a combination between the urban feel of nyc and a "normal university life" then you might like it here. Another drawback is that the food here SUCKSSSSSS. its really really bad.

Question
Fordham has been a great place to attend;Journalism
Fordham has been a great place to attend; the education is very solid and the workload is tough. There is a definite work hard, play hard environment.Professers will always be there for you and in some cases, bend over backwards to make you comfortable. That doesn't equate to an easy time, however; Fordham has slight grade deflation which can make grading rigid at times. The Bronx is great and close to Manhattan so there are endless possibilities. The bars in the bronx are great-- most fordham students are fairly heavy drinkers. No big parties on campus but off-campus is excellent; nightlife is amazing. The catholic presence is felt but it's not overwhelming by ANY means. The only negative aspect I can think of is that occasionally the students can be a little closeminded; most are very friendly, but still fairly closeminded. When walking into the bronx, many surprising comments about diversity will be heard; it's definitely a culture shock for those who come from a sheltered, wealthy, suburban environment. Fordham is working hard to increase diversity on campus though and it shows.
