Let me first say that any review you read about the stuQuite BrightCommunications
Let me first say that any review you read about the students here being superficial and just plain dumb is absolutely TRUE. If you want to form friendships with people who are capable of having a conversation with some depth to it, then don't come here! The students are all nauseatingly materialistic and basically will not talk to you unless you are sporting heels and the latest, most expensive Coach bag. Class discussions are a bore because everyone here is incapable of talking about anything outside the realm of popular culture. Please, if you like to form friendships with people who truly care about you, don't go here - you will only find people here who are just plain dumb, arrogant, and stuck up.

On a different note, the city of Syracuse has absolutely nothing to offer - besides the drinking every night on frat row. The parents of students here are basically paying for their children to go out and get trashed every night. If you're the type who doesn't like to be drunk every weekend, then don't come here - you will be made fun of. There is tremendous pressure to go out drinking every weekend, and even when you do, the people you meet are only rude to you.

Even the Newhouse kids, who are supposedly the brightest of the bunch, are incapable of having an intellectual conversation - they all look good on paper - but beware, the high SAT scores and straight A's don't mean that they can actually share insightful comments during discussions. Save yourself now from Syracuse! If you can get into a better school, then by all means, GO THERE! Syracuse is basically like one, big, over-priced state school with snooty kids and nothing to offer in terms of a valuable education. On top of all that, the weather is horrible, too. If you're smart, or if you aren't shallow, DONT COME TO SYRACUSE - you will be miserable.

This school is great academically speaking.BrightEducation
This school is great academically speaking. Most of its departments live up to their reputation, and while they are demanding in coursework they are rewarding. Social life however, while fun, is almost entirely dominated by Greek life. Frat parties are the only places to go on the weekends, and the only places in which to see and be seen, unless its a bar on the weeknight.
