The terrible reputation this school has is haunting me wherever I go!!! I am ashamed to say that I attended OWU, because everyone considers it to be a party school for intellectually-challenged rich kids. Once students there get out into the world, they will realize how badly going to OWU will hurt them. To current OWU students, I would say transfer while you can!!! Get a degree from a place with at least a modicum of prestige...but then again, most OWU students don't know what 'modicum' means, since I believe the average SAT score there is in the triple digits.

There is no nice way to say itSuper BrilliantHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
There is no nice way to say it -- this is a very low-quality school and has a very low-quality student body. Almost anyone can get accepted here, and hence there are lots of people who clearly don't belong in an academic setting. The school has a very poor reputation, and almost no one goes on to attend a prestigious graduate program. This place is fine for people who had a C average in high school, and whose sole ambition for college is to have a good time. The serious student should look elsewhere. And if you're REALLY smart, like a valedictorian or a National Merit Scholar, definitely don't go here. You will be bored and miserable. This is a school for underachievers, and is universally regarded as such.

Wesleyan is home to a diverse group ofSuper BrilliantAnthropology
Wesleyan is home to a diverse group of students, especially for a school with less than 2,000 undergraduates. Because of this, we enjoy a gamut of ethnic clubs and social events. It creates an atmosphere in which you can learn, not only about the richness of other cultures, but more about yourself as well. The student body includes a large international student population, which fits in wonderfully on our campus: a lot of brilliantly smart Pakistani and Indian kids as well as Ohio kids and a surprisingly large population from Connecticut.
