I am writing to save other students from the debt that is now destroying my life. I have a decent job - but it's one that I obtained through a temp agency that I could have qualified for with a BA from any school. PLEASE PLEASE do not put yourself in debt over attending this university. This school is NOT worth it. It is priced beyond what it will ever offer you in the future. Please do not make the same mistake I did. It can ruin your financial future indefinitely. The students are extremely nasty. I was laughed out of a party for wearing a non-name brand shirt. I am a decently thin, attractive, mild-mannered girl (I would like to think), and I was treated like a freak of nature because I do not drive a BMW to school every day. Please do not put yourself through the emotional or financial chaos that I now have to live with. This school is for wealthy, white kids whose parents will pick up the tab on tuition and associated costs. Employers look for a BA, not at what school you obtained it. I really hope this helps someone.

The student body is the worst aspect of Saint Joes. Students are very snobby, conservative, and close minded. Many came from catholic high schools and are very similar. Students dress and act the same. There is hardly any diversity on this campus- it's sad.

Philadelphia is a great city, but the school is hardly in it. The students here think this is Philly, when they are too scared to go into Center City. I have heard students make comments about "black people" and how the surrounding area is "scary" when it's actually really safe.

Public safety is terrible. They do nothing, and when they do give you rides they have a terrible attitude. I feel like this school only cares about you because of the amount of money you bring to them. The academics are okay and the business school is very overrated even though it is ranked. The social scene is terrible, the parties are for kids that did not go drink in high school. And you have to know someone just to get it, just an example of how this school cares about status. The food sucks, breakfast and dinner are okay if you get lucky. The dorms are likable when everything in the room is working - wifi, lights, or air conditioning.
Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Social Life: D

I absolutely love SJU. It was not my first choice, but I am so glad the other schools didn't work out because now I'm here. The students and staff are really friendly. I had no trouble making friends. The way freshman orientation is run really helps you get to know people you'll actually see around campus. The freshman dorms are pretty good for dorms. I live in McShain which I love, we have walk in closets and built in desks and shelving. The classes are challenging, but not overly so. I did well first semester (3.5 gpa) but, I did work pretty hard. YOU WILL LOVE SJU!
