Pensacola Christian College

Learned a lot at PCC that I've carried with me over the years. After attending graduate school at several other institutions, I believe I was well prepared by PCC. At the same time, I wish some of the classes had been more challenging, and I wish the the teachers had set a higher standard for the students. Since PCC will let almost anyone in, many students there aren't well prepared for the rigors of college. Material tends to be watered down as a result.

To be totally honest I wasn't sure whether or not to post a postive comment or a neutral commment. This post will be a "Neutrative" comment. To start with I will echo a PCC cliche, "PCC is not for everybody." People must pray about their college choice and listen to the advice of godly christian leaders. I have seen people absolutely miserable and chafing under the discipline (often referred to as the spiritual elite legalism) at PCC. Those people are not necessarily less spiritual or rebellious, they are either raised differently or are more independently minded. Being at PCC was not the best for them, perhaps if they went to a different institution they would grow more. However, for others, PCC is good. I didn't enjoy the less conservative christian college I transferred from and wanted to transfer to PCC. I wasn't a "Super Christian", but I would rather have more discipline and encouragement to progress spiritally than a casual christianity. I think that I didn't like to be the most conservative on campus, which at PCC I am not. Being at that other college wasn't wrong for me, but I knew what would be the best. Simply put, if the rules bother you now at PCC either suck it up and deal with it or move on. My friend at West Point has to deal with more rules than at PCC. Academically, PCC is an excellent school. Some worry about the school not being accrediated, but neither are some Ivy League schools. In some areas it would matter, but generally it will not. As a pastoral major I would recommend the program. The pastoral seminars, christian service opportunities, and intership options are excellent. I am not sure about the seminary at the school, so I am currently checking/ praying whether or not I should attend there. I would suggest visiting the campus and talking to people in your desired major (which will probably change, as mine did.) Pray about it and determine to have a positive attitude. I am sure there will be those that think my post is too positive, but I tried to be as honest as I possible could. God bless you in your college career!

Pensacola Christian College is an excellent school. You meet people from all over the world and friends for lifetime. The teachers are excellent! It is a school firmly based on God's Word. They offer a variety of activies for the students.
