UNO is a good solid school - the staff that I encountered in all Departments were always willing and able to help a student. Their doors were always opened to me as an undergrad. Academics were challenging in the 1000/2000 levels because of the board nature of the classes/ tests were multiple choice , the 3000/4000 were much more essay/reading driven and easier to manage. The Commons area is the main social area for all students. The school geographically is easy to get around & not that large - you can walk across campus in 10 minutes. The parking is the pits in the morning, but after 12:30 in the afternoon not as big a problem. The shuttle bus service is no longer a "free" service - your billed on your tuition bill for it so much per credit hour. Students are for the most part very friendly, and there are age differences in students from the trad student all the way to the non-trad students in classes - which makes for a lively mix. UNO helped me get ready for a Division I school grad program so I can say my time/money were well spent there! GO MAVS!
