Very unselective school that essentially lets in everyone who applies and most do not have the means to be in college. Most college students are way to academically advanced for this school (and bigger, more selective colleges tend to be the primary stakeholders of college academia) this school doesn?t just select from the bottom of the barrel but throws tons of financial aid and student loans to low-income students and athletic scholarships to disadvantaged athletes (One?s with various conditions preventing them from making into D I/II schools). Since these students (in this situation) don?t have much if any academic merit they seem regress the academics here. It?s not be ignored that they?re are students here that come from full paying tuition families and they are just as poor academically. Students here act they are in middle or high school, do not possess any of the intellect expected of a college student and have relatively simpler goals in life, nearly no one who plans on going into law, medicine or social sciences. If your an intellectual type this school will ve a nightmare! It is such an anti-intellectual environment and the culture here is not conducive to such lifestyle. Academics are pretty superficial and the student body guarantees no intellectual conversation or ideas contributed in class. The campus is often the envy of the Boston area but it is nothing like it?s portrayed to be. The Student Center and some upperclassmen dorms are really (of course the population here decreases the value by at least 40%). However most of the halls and academic buildings are run down and outdated, and since there is no social consciousness here the students treat the campus and halls like a garbage dump (even the nicest ones), trash is everywhere, the bathrooms are as bad as at a gas station, and despite wonderful cleaning service it?s all a mess again in ten minutes. The college constituted a very overprotective, walled in culture, the only way in is through a guarded entrance, there is more security guards here than at a military base. If you have a ton of money and zero intellect than this is the perfect place for you, otherwise look elsewhere!
