Picking a business school

Someone recently said if it was not Harvard, Yale, Columbia or some ivory league MBA program then the program was a waste of money.

What area of business to study

From information technology to marketing, project management to sports management, international business to real estate and health care to finance there are plenty of positions available for individuals with experience in their industry and whom have obtained their masters in business administration. Someone who understands their industry or field from the ground up and moves in to management can better administer.

Already have a degree in another area

Individuals with degrees in the information technologies, nursing and education amongst others can advance their careers by obtaining their masters in business administration in as little as 12 months. Some universities offer accelerated MBA programs for people whom hold bachelors and higher degrees in areas like information technology or nursing.

Currently in middle management, 10-15 years experience

If you have been working in management for a good part of your early career and you are looking to advance your team,communication and over all business management skills you can look at an executive MBA program. Universities offer programs to individuals who have been working in the real work for 10-15 years and are currently in upper management and want to advance their skills and careers a program which on average is 2 years.
