Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Well, I have mixed feelings about PCC.History/Histories (art history/etc.)
Well, I have mixed feelings about PCC. I chose to go there myself and completely paid (and am still paying) my own way through. When I was there, things were difficult with the rules. I wouldn't say that it hurt me however. The friends that I made are the kind that last a lifetime and I wouldn't trained them or the life lessons I learned from them for anything in the world! I get a little offended when I hear someone talk badly about my alma mater but I do try to understand. PCC is not for everyone but it does prove self-discipline. The education is excellent unless you are pursuing a career that will require undergraduate accreditation. Overall, I would definitely do it again and would recommend it to others. I am even considering returning for my master's degree in education in the summers while school is out.

Question
PCC is a very good college.Education
PCC is a very good college. Rules are everywhere; you must learn to live with them. Usually, those who already have problems submitting to authority will not make it at PCC. College taught me that my education depended solely on me - no one else. If you can self-study, you will do well in ANY college you choose. Dorm life will will teach you how to live with and get along with others - especially from other geographical regions. Social skills are necessary; friends are important. PCC does have a rep. of being the "friendliest" campus. Did I agree with everything there? NO. But, I learned that you can't agree with everything or everyone. I got my degree and left; no sense complaining about what you can't change. Get what you can in your education, and leave the rest behind. I find it interesting the negative reviews by alumni. Ask yourself, why they stayed if they hated it so much? And, by the way, don't be afraid if you find yourself doing something later in life that you didn't study for. Statistics show that 75% or more college students change their majors AT LEAST ONCE before graduation. College should teach you how to organize, prioritize and work. Enjoy this time of your life. It will never come again. You have much to learn and look forward to!!

Question
At PCC (just like everywhere else) it seemsMechanical Engineering
At PCC (just like everywhere else) it seems there are two types of people, those that are going to get somethng done, and those that are just going to blame their problems on everybody. I went through there and it was tough let me tell you, yeah there are rules, and they are pervasive, but by the time you leave that place you have an excellent knowledge of your chosen field of work and you have the mental and physical discipline that so many people seem to lack today in the workplace. Basically you end up being someone who can get the job done, that's what bosses want, not excuses. I hire and fire based on that, I don't have time to hear whining, I want results. Thats how I got to where I am, thats what my company wants, that's what people have to deliver in my workplace. It's easy to be mediocre, and there are plenty of those types graduating today from the 'top universities' who in my experience have been the ones who can't think creatively because they don't know the basics well enough. In my opinion what has been achieved in my life is directly related to my suprise choice to attend PCC rather than the original university I would have attended in Mass. If your thinking of going to PCC don't go there if you want an easy go at it and you want 'to be who you are'. I heard plenty of drop-outs say that. Like I said it's easy to be mediocre. If you are a hard worker and you can be flexible enought to follow the rules in order to get by this is an outstanding college to attend for engineering or nursing as well as business. I have yet to run into a problem becasue it was unaccredited. I have travelled throughout the world working in different places and doing post-graduate work and have still to be set back because of the accredidation status. If you are willing to trust in the Lord, this is the place for you!
