Learn specific job related skills while in college or HS.You are of little value to any organization if you are limited in filling the needs of a company. Learn to speak one or more foreign languages, computer or technical services, software services, musical, or medical skills. Too many graduates are nice people with a desire to learn and make money, but have nothing of value that they can add to an organization right out of school. They are often thrown into some mundane position and set up to learn on their own, or fail. Also, be able to communicate with others well. Learn how to write emails, letters and documents properly. I spend too much time correcting letters and messages that are poorly constructed.

I strongly believe that college prepares for the career by understanding that a commitment is made and expected to be completed. College teaches the basics in a given field, but what is lacking in the degree programs is the importance of completing a task. (Degree Plan) I strongly urge all high schoolers to learn Speed Reading and read on their own should it not be assigned by teachers. Reading comprehension is very important. Lastly, I feel that all students work part time in college. This reiterates the importance of commitment and loyalty. Study habits need to be learned as an element of time management.... Structure of a part time job along with a full-time curriculum will force students to gain proper study habits to get through school. Thanks for the opportunity.
