Antioch is the perfect school for me. Combine the super-liberal atmosphere, great teachers, self-governance, co-op program, and unlimited personal freedom and I'm all for it.

But Antioch isn't perfect. I like what Antioch has wrong. It's a nice set of problems. Problems I'm learning from as a student. Hey, if Antioch was perfect, how would we learn from fixing it? Antioch is an old-stalwart of the counter-culture. Most of Antioch 'conforms' to the counter-culture standard. Liberal can be 'Holy' at times. I've been criticized for having moderate views. And some people don't have a sense of humor at all. People try to find reasons to be offended sometimes. Some of us try to find ways to offend people (see the Student Groups page). The school has a very strong anti-man (or Feminazi) side. Men's Health Magazine ranked us the most anti-man college in the US. I think they're right. It's interesting being a man here.

Do you want to change the world? Good. The average Antioch student thinks she does, too. But she really just wants the world to be changed so she can be comfortable. How many Antioch students does it take to change a light bulb? No Antioch student ever changed anything. heh.My advice if you're thinking of coming to Antioch? Watch SLC Punk and PCU. Make sure you aren't homophobic. If you are conservative, make sure you are very open-minded and ready to be challenged, and maybe stoned. And I mean that in the "with rocks" sense, not the "High Times ranked Antioch the safest Campus in the US to Smoke Pot" sense.

It is important to have experiences during college that will help you to ascertain what the right field is for you.

The uniqueness of the undergraduate program I attended allowed me to participate in various settings within my field of study; it affirmed the right choice for me. It is also important to be tenacious and maintain a good level of motivation. Don't give up; turn obstacles into positive challenges. Take pride in learning problem solving and decision making skills. Build up your level tolerance for frustration. In short, combine academics with practical experience and self development.
